The Nebraska Synod’s ministry is dependent on its partnership with congregations. Through mission share giving, a congregation extends its influence beyond its local community to serve others throughout the state, across the country, and around the world. In total, congregations invest more than $4 million each year in the work of the Nebraska Synod and the ELCA. The Nebraska Synod is grateful to congregations for their sacrificial gifts of love that sustain current mission efforts and advance new ministry opportunities and it desires to make these partnerships known.
It is essential that the Nebraska Synod introduce a development effort committed to supporting congregational, synod, agency, institution and special ministries. This may be most creatively accomplished by developing and/or supporting existing congregational foundations and endowments for mission. Nebraska Lutherans will be encouraged to make planned gifts to benefit their congregations and the ministry that is done together with the Nebraska Synod and the ELCA. The campaign will support the creation of a development effort, including underwriting the capital campaign’s expenses and funding a development effort for two years following the campaign.
