The Nebraska Synod invites your generous participation in the Campaign for Leadership and Youth. Each and every gift will make a dramatic impact on the Nebraska Synod’s ability to respond to the spiritual needs of children, teens and adults throughout the region and meet the future mission challenges in creative ways. Thank you for taking time to consider how God might be calling you to help underwrite the exciting future of the Nebraska Synod and its dynamic ministries. If desired, your gift may be designated for a specific component of the campaign.
Ways to Make an Individual Contribution
- Cash Gifts – By giving a one-time gift—via check, cash or credit card—you have the satisfaction of knowing your gift makes an immediate difference to the Nebraska Synod.
- Pledge Gifts – By making pledge payments over a period of years you are able to give significantly larger gifts than a one-time cash gift.
- Gifts of Securities – By giving appreciated assets, such as stocks, you can make larger gifts with significant tax advantages.
- Gifts of Real Estate – By giving saleable real property, the Nebraska Synod receives a larger contribution while you receive attractive tax incentives.
- Matching Gifts – Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will provide matching gifts for their members who make contributions to the campaign. Also, some employers provide matching funds made to charitable organizations.
Ways for Congregations to Meet the Challenge
- Include the campaign commitment in the congregation’s 2009 to 2011 budget.
- Identify a group of individuals within the congregation who can make special campaign gifts.
- Invite the congregation’s foundation to make a major gift to the campaign.
- Ask an individual or group of people to make a “challenge gift,” which matches the commitments of other members of the congregation.
- Include the Nebraska Synod Campaign in the congregation’s capital campaign.
- Invite the congregation to give an anniversary offering to the campaign.
- Tithe the congregation’s capital campaign to the Nebraska Synod Campaign.
