The Nebraska Synod recognizes that lay leaders are often thrown into difficult and challenging situations with few opportunities to prepare for their responsibilities and roles. In response, the synod will establish a Lay Leadership Academy that features training on asset-based development, overcoming conflict, church meetings that matter, preventing professional misconduct, understanding the congregation’s personality, conducting difficult conversations, etc. The campaign will underwrite two opportunities for lay leadership development—one in eastern and one in western Nebraska for four years.
