A survey of the Nebraska Synod’s rostered leaders by the Synod Council indicated that spiritual direction is their single most pressing personal and professional need. pastors and other leaders continually pour their lives out for others and must find ways to nourish their own spirituality and develop deep reservoirs of spiritual strength. In response, spiritual retreats will be developed and offered annually for four years as a time set apart for focusing on one’s relationship with Christ and God’s call to service. Spiritual directors will be identified and trained to meet this significant leadership need, and will be available across the Nebraska Synod.
